Codex Arcana's Answer
Question: "When the magic in the world changed and the clairvoyants lost
their sight, what caused it?"
Answer: There is no consensus. Compiled information will be presented.
Ancient scholars within the Oswian Jungle found that the universe is
cyclical. They determined that clairvoyants are able to witness the paths
our previous incarnations took, and that the limit of their visions must
therefore be the moment that life disappeared from the previous world. As
observed by researchers in Xengus Sud, that moment arrived 10.56 years
ago. It was theorized by the ancient Church of Denizen that such an event
would cause great strain on the membrane between the material world and
Mobius. Such strain could lead to three outcomes:
1. A drop in the ambient magic available to be pulled through mortal souls
from Mobius, limiting the amount of magic an individual would have
access to at any given moment.
2. A slow destabilization, or "Ripple," within the barrier, possibly
leading to,
3. A sudden collapse for an unknown length of time and at unknown
locations while the two streams re-establish themselves.
