Glade Cuisine

Human cuisine is extremely varied compared to the other races due to their preference for cooked food and their natural ability to adapt.

Ourok food primarily consists of two groups: meat and carbs. The meat can be cooked or raw and is preferably heavily salted. They have strong stomachs but can't process large amounts of fibrous plant matter.

Elf food is very subtle compares to other races, and to humans it often tastes bland. An elf's strong senses are easily overwhelmed by large amounts of sugar and salt, although strong bitter flavors are much more tolerable.

Dwarf food is regularly inedible to most races. Their strong livers are able to filter out most poisonous substances and the side-effects of such substances are quite pleasant for them. For carbohydrates and alcohol, dwarves rely on grain imports from human and dust primordian farms. The stereotype of low-quality dwarven food is due to them being careful to only serve other races "safe" options.

Dragonfolk (dragonborn and kobolds) lack the psychological aversion to eating insects that other races suffer from. Their high-protein diets often include scavenged handfuls of grubs and beetles as well as fruits and vegetables. Spicy food is common in dragonfolk cuisine while kobolds generally prefer umami-rich dishes centered on fungi. Neither race can process dairy products particularly well.

Infernal cuisine is very high in fat and the infernal palate is also very strongly attracted to sweet flavors when available. Sea lion milk, tundra beet sugar and cabbage are main features of their cultural dishes, as well as meat from giant spiders.

Primordian palates vary as widely as their physical forms. Aquians are accustomed to raw fish and cephalopod meat and they are some of the top importers of exotic spices. Solians are uniquely able to produce vital energy when in contact with high temperatures and solar energy. As a consequence they often don't need to eat, but when they do they follow a vegetarian diet. Terrians grow even larger amounts of grains than humans and appear to be able to subsist entirely on them. Terrian bread is widely considered to be the tastiest and most varied in the world. Aethian cuisine is extremely utilitarian, nutritionally complete but often purposefully flavorless so as not to distract a busy primordian.
