The Pantheon of Glade
Abednego
Human God of Light
One of the twin human gods. It is said that he and his brother Asclepius
shaped the world and then were born into it. Abednego learned the values
of self-reliance and justice during his time in the mortal world.
Asclepius
Human God of Life
One of the twin human gods. It is said that he and his brother Abednego
shaped the world and then were born into it. Asclepius learned the values
of altruism and healing during his time in the mortal world.
Azahina
Ourok Goddess of Battle and Fertility
Azahina was an ancient warrior of strength and magic back during a more
turbulent period of Ourok history. It is said that she led the tribes in
retaking their ancestral homelands from elven invaders, and from there led
a campaign to conquer all that was within reach. Her empire stretched
across more than half of the eastern continent at the height of her reign.
At the moment of her death in battle she saw into the afterlife and
discovered a new territory to make her own. She now oversees a warrior's
paradise to which all honorable combatants, friend or foe in life, are
welcomed in death.
Denizen
Infernal God of the Grave
As an infernal with no horns, Denizen was a bit of an oddity in life.
Stranger still were his fantastic sorceries stemming from what he
determined to be the afterlife. He spent his time on Glade developing his
innate powers and studying death rituals all across the three continents.
It wasn't until he crossed the final threshold himself that he learned the
Truth, and his followers are tasked with spreading that Truth and guiding
others into the great beyond.
Fafph
Dwarven God of the Forge
A dwarf/magmin ancestor said to have crystalline hair and granite skin. In
life he worked a forge at the heart of the planet and crafted legendary
artifacts, many of which are at the center of conflicts to this day. He is
also commonly seen as the god of virility
Pep
Infernal Goddess of Winter
A young diety said to grant relief to those who suffer. Her domain is icy
winds and arcane knowledge. Her followers have been given a story of
forgotten heroic deeds and told to spread it throughout the world of
Glade.
Primordius (and His Many Faces)
Primoridan God of the Elements
Legend says he was a human or perhaps an elf shaman who was cast into a
volcano during a powerful thunderstorm, and that his followers took on new
forms when he ascended. Some say he was actually an Ourok, but if he was,
the Ourok do not claim him as their own. His faces are named Flame, Earth,
Water, and Volt.
Tir Frig
Elven God of Knowledge and Power
He was said to have once been a powerful wizard who used his intricate
knowledge of the arcane to transcend even lichdom to become something even
more powerful. So powerful, in fact, than a parasite was able to feast on
a portion of his magics and grow strong enough to absorb knowledge from
the planet itself.
Tempura
Giantkin Goddess of Dreams
Tempura is of a race closely related to the elemental giants, Firbolgs and
Goliaths, and is often worshiped by the latter two. Her domain is
mindfulness, trickery, illusion and dreams. In life she was a monk of the
Way of the Soul who achieved Nirvana using a combination of magic and
meditation to gain full control over her own mind. She exists in a state
of full lucidity and her domain within mobius shifts and flows with her
mental state. It is known as The Dreamscape. As a goddess she grants
mortals access to the Dreamscape when they sleep. Their souls create a
pathway into Mobius through which their minds are projected, where they
can experience a small portion of Tempura's own being, which is shaped in
part by the mortal's thoughts and memories. Her followers within the
mortal realm teach mindfulness through their unique form of full-body
worship. It is said that once an individual can master her techniques,
they too can attain some measure of lucidity within the Dreamscape, or at
least do away with nightmares.
Whillip
Whillip is an old and chaotic god. He cares not for good nor evil, and
much like the plants that are his domain, his nature is to be caustic
towards attempts at dominating the wild. He makes an exception for
farming, however. To maintain his favor a follower must sow a plant for
each that they destroy. Most of the stories surrounding Whillip's life
have been lost to time. Indeed, his followers have never been tasked with
maintaining this information. Instead they travel the world, advising
rulers and farmers alike in the art and virtues of nurturing vegetation.
Those followers that fail are seldom discouraged. After all, eventually,
all is reclaimed by Whillip.
Verthag
Ourok God of Production, Order
Verthag represents the current age of Ourok society. It is said that he
brought order to the warrior tribes once there was nothing left to
conquer. As a shaman he preached for peace and cooperation between the
Ourok communities and the spirits of nature, and he paved the way towards
the sustainable production methods of the modern day communes. His symbol
is a butcher's knife lying perpendicular over a tree branch, often framed
by a five pointed star.
Xengral
Monstrous God of Chaos
A beast who stumbled upon a great source of power and ascended to godhood.
This creature has a deep and unknowable intellect. If there is any meaning
to be derived from its machinations, it is not for mortals to know. Its
followers are beastfolk, dragons, monstrous shamans, pirates, bandits, and
those who have been driven insane after catching a glimpse at the true
nature of creation.
