On Sil'Tau and Ares
The twin cities of Silgate and Aresgate are not the only settlements in
the world named in such a manner. The mythological heroes Sil'Tau and Ares
are celebrated all across the northern half of the eastern continent, and
several provinces in Oswia alone contain places named after them.
Sil'Tau and Ares' deeds are chronicled in the 23-part epic "Incursion", in
which a shooting star collides with the surface of Glade. At first it is
believed to be a new artifact shard, but upon discovery of the impact
site, it is revealed that the meteorite is actually some sort of portal
through which demons have begun flooding through, corrupting the
surrounding landscape. Sil'Tau the high elf elite and Ares the human
warrior then lead their two armies against the demonic horde, destroying
the portal and stemming the tide of evil. They spend the remaining 11
parts traveling the world and hunting the remaining demons. At the
conclusion of the epic, they die tragically at the hands of an ambitious
traitor and are buried together at the site of that most glorious battle.
