The Initiation

Stavroula Kyari (nickname "Stinky") is a young satyr and devotee of the God of Death, Denizen. She meets with her mentor, Father Uvier, in the Temple of the Pantheon they both serve at. In order to complete her initiation as acolyte, Uvier tasks Stavroula with traveling to Nutfog to investigate the cause behind wagons of taxes disappearing. She is permitted to recruit whatever help she requires in pursuit of this investigation.

Stavroula first recruits the assistance of Uusi, a similarly-aged kobold childhood friend and aspiring wizard. Uusi resides at Ezhar's Wizard Emporium at the edge of Fenside, studying under the tutelage of the elderly wizard Ezhar. She is already a prodigious caster and desires to someday be acknowledged as one of the world's greatest mages.

The satyr and kobold seek the assistance of Ida, a gnome woman and traveling musician residing at the Drunken Squirrel Inn. The pair reason she is best positioned to assist with the trek between Fenside and Nutfog due to her travel experience.

After departing for Nutfog the trio encounter a group of boags and attempt to sneak past them in order to take a shortcut, bypassing the main road. Stavroula fails to be stealthy, faceplanting into the mud and alerting them. A fight ensues and the frog-beasts are defeated.

Upon arrival Stavroula, Uusi and Ida meet with the Mayor of Nutfog, Darwin Nutfog. He informs the party that a strange woman has been sighted on the road between Garreteville and Fenside, following travelers, and that the missing taxes are due to theft from a nearby goblin den.

While searching, they are attacked by four goblins. Three are killed and the fourth surrenders. He introduces himself Glob and seems incredibly enamored with Stavroula and her strange death magics. In exchange for being spared, he agrees to escort the party into the den.

With the help of Glob, the party navigates their way through the pitfalls of the den to the "Clubhouse" at the end. There, they kick down the door and surprise the goblin necromancer within. A fight ensues where Stavroula, growing increasingly frustrated with her inability to land a blow, mounts a table and is promptly downed by the necromancer's minions. Ida stabilizes her as the others finish the fight and scrape up the loot.

With the goblin den dismantled, the party travels back to Fenside, bringing Glob with them. They are stopped by an especially beautiful woman with freckles and copper hair, calling herself Hilda. Hilda asks them whether they've seen an elf with bright green hair who calls himself "Pan". They have not.
